Auckland Agency Launches Revolutionary New Tool: The Client Mood Dashboard™

By Mad Team on October 9, 2025

In a bold move that nobody asked for, Auckland-based creative agency Mango Worm has unveiled its latest innovation: the Client Mood Dashboard™, a live digital interface tracking real-time client emotional volatility using a mix of Slack emojis, email punctuation and passive-aggressive calendar invites.

"We've always said data is power," said Strategy Director Paula McKibben, while gesturing vaguely at a whiteboard featuring the words 'vibes' and 'alignment' connected by four types of arrows. "Now we know when a client writes 'sure, sounds good.' with a full stop, they're on the brink."

The Dashboard, built entirely in a Google Sheet with 67 hidden tabs, colour-codes clients into four temperament categories: Chipper, Lukewarm, Spreadsheet Incoming and Fire Drill. The predictive algorithm runs on 12 years of passive slack observation and one intern's emotional trauma. A beta test with key FMCG clients last month revealed it hit 87% accuracy the morning before Bovril New Zealand cancelled its oat-milk barbecue range pitch.

Creative teams have responded well to the tool. "It's cut down on wasted brainstorms," said Art Director Mike Cheung. "If the mood's red, we don't even bother opening the Sharpies." Management is already working on an add-on feature, Passive Aggression Frequency Tracker™, scheduled for Q3. The agency assures clients their data is safe, unless they use unnecessary exclamation marks or CC the regional CEO.
