Agency Launches Strategic Rebrand for Monday Mornings, Now Called ‘PreTuesday’

In an effort to transform the most universally hated 24-hour period into something people might tolerate for three to five minutes, Auckland agency Rattler & Moon has unveiled a daring rebrand of Monday. Effective immediately, Monday will now be known as ‘PreTuesday’.

According to the campaign deck, which clocked in at 113 slides plus two mood films, the rebrand aims to neutralise ‘legacy trauma associated with weekend withdrawal’. The agency's strategy team cited data from a carefully sampled group of six interns, four of whom admitted to feeling 'deep dread' beginning Sunday at 3:30pm. Since dread apparently peaked at exactly 7:42am on Monday mornings, the solution was simple: erase Monday, sort of.

“We wanted to reframe Monday as a gentle ramp-up, not a cliff dive,” said Rattler & Moon’s Head of Cognitive Optimism, Tayla Crimp. “By renaming it ‘PreTuesday’, we set a tone. You don’t expect much of a prequel. No one holds 'Star Wars: Episode I' to high standards, and neither should we expect full productivity on PreTuesday.”

The rebrand has already rolled out across the agency’s own internal Slack channels, where Monday meetings are now called ‘PreTuesday Alignment Chats’. Their client, a mid-scale oat milk brand no one asked for, is also reportedly considering shifting its product launches to Wednesdays only. The project’s next phase includes a pilot study into rebranding 3pm as ‘SnackNoon’ to mitigate the emotional crash following lunch.

Whether or not 'PreTuesday' catches on with the public remains to be seen, but insiders report a mood lift at the agency, particularly among staff who now feel comfortable wearing slippers until 11am on Zoom.
