Wellington Agency Launches Department Solely for Winning Internal Awards
In a bold move to realign with what really matters, Wellington-based creative agency Fizzle & Slap has officially launched a new department purely dedicated to winning internal staff awards.
The new unit, dubbed ‘Project Gold-Star’, boasts a team of three copywriters with no client work and one bewildered HR rep. Their sole mission? To generate dazzling emails, morale-booster Kahoot quizzes and eerily enthusiastic Slack reactions. According to Fizzle & Slap’s Head of Internal Recognition, Andrea (no surname needed), the team has ‘already been shortlisted for Best Use of Animated Gifs in a Wellness Thread.’
“We realised our top talents were spending more time trying to land a Cannes Lion than making Brenda from Finance feel seen during virtual bingo,” said Creative Director Josh P, clutching a glitter-stickered trophy marked ‘Monthly MVP Runner Up’ in Comic Sans. “So we thought, why not double down?”
Not to be outdone, competing agency HotGlue is rumoured to be developing an AI that detects when someone uses the word ‘synergy’ in Zoom chats, auto-tagging them for nomination. Meanwhile, Project Gold-Star is reportedly piloting a ‘Swag Economy’ initiative, allowing staff to trade buzzword-laden LinkedIn posts for branded drink bottles shaped like sad pigeons.
