Creative Agency Launches Internal Awards Ceremony for Best Internal Awards Ceremony
AUCKLAND, NZ — In a bold move to push boundaries nobody asked them to, local creative agency Tumeke+Something has launched the industry’s first-ever internal awards for internal awards. The annual ‘GlowUps’ will celebrate achievements in the planning, PowerPointing, and audience manipulation of every self-congratulatory ceremony the agency has run since 2021.
“We kept winning external awards and it just felt impersonal,” said Chief Vibe Curator, Melissa-Louise Kent. “But then someone said, hey, remember Greg’s slideshow transition from the 2023 Mid-Year Hustle Huddle? And we just knew. We had to honour our own honouring.”
The inaugural GlowUps included such hotly contested categories as Best Hammed-Up Applause, Most Excessive Use of Gold Gradient in a Trophy Design, and Lifetime Achievement in Re-introducing the Same Values Deck Every Quarter. Jury members were chosen for their unwavering commitment to Slack reactions and ability to stay awake during 47-slide Miro boards.
Greg, whose keynote accidentally played the 'Shrek 2' soundtrack instead of Uplifting Corporate Instrumental #9, took home the top prize. "Honestly, it's humbling," he said, handing press a laminated version of his acceptance speech that folded out into an origami lion. "It means our internal celebration of internal culture is finally getting the external recognition it internally deserves."
